This role is pivotal in evolving our AWS-centric infrastructure, streamlining development processes, bolstering security and compliance, and ultimately multiplying the efficiency of our engineering teams. What you'll do

• Optimize and evolve VIALET's cloud infrastructure on AWS, with a strong focus on serverless and fully-managed services, ensuring high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Leverage your deep understanding of networking and AWS services to design robust solutions and support product engineering teams.
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, automating infrastructure provisioning and establishing reusable patterns and modules.
• Enhance observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) across our systems and implement solutions for effective AWS cost visibility and optimization.
• Develop and maintain internal tools, standardized deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and shared infrastructure components to improve developer productivity and experience.
• Drive improvements in our security posture, operational processes, and compliance frameworks (e.g., patch management, backup strategies, access control), identifying and implementing solutions that integrate smoothly into our workflows (e.g., within GitHub).
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand their needs and provide reliable, scalable platform solutions and standardized practices.
• Research, experiment with, and champion the adoption of new technologies, AI-first engineering practices, and process improvements to boost overall engineering efficiency and effectiveness.

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of experience in Platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, or a similar infrastructure-focused role with a strong emphasis on enabling development teams.
• Deep understanding of AWS services, particularly serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, etc.) and managed offerings (RDS, DynamoDB, etc.), and best practices for building secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Solid expertise in networking concepts and protocols within the AWS ecosystem (VPCs, Security Groups, Load Balancers, routing, VPNs).
• Strong understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in a cloud environment; keen interest in addressing compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., patch management, backups).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and developing automation scripts/tools.
• A passion for automation, process improvement, observability, and enabling other engineers through robust platforms and clear standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams and other stakeholders.
• Interest in exploring and applying AI to engineering workflows and processes is highly desirable.

Bonus points

• Experience in the FinTech industry.
• Knowledge of security auditing and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
• Familiarity with containerization concepts (e.g., Docker) is useful, though not our primary focus currently.
